What is the difference between rutile and anatase TiO₂?
Rutile has a higher refractive index (2.71 vs 2.55), better UV resistance, and superior weatherability, making it ideal for exterior applications. Anatase is softer, has higher brightness, and is preferred for paper, cosmetics, and indoor applications.
Which grade should I use for exterior paints?
For exterior paints and coatings, we recommend rutile grades (R-902 or R-900) due to their superior UV resistance and weatherability. The surface treatment (Al₂O₃ + ZrO₂) provides excellent durability against chalking and fading.
Is your titanium dioxide food-grade?
